Community Economic Development (CED)

South Lake CFDC partners with municipalities and other community organizations in projects designed to enhance, and or improve the local communities and the overall climate for local business. The various projects we engage in are a result of a wider community consultation which results in the development of a Community Economic Development Strategic Plan.  This plan is reviewed on an ongoing basis and renewed every three to four years.  Click on the link below for a copy of the Executive Summary of the current plan (2008-2010).   

Projects may range from the development of key infrastructures, to skills development, to other key community needs such as health care, recreation and general quality of life.

South Lake CFDC has the capacity to assist in providing funds, project management, volunteer leadership and administrative support to a variety of community economic development activities.

South Lake CFDC has the capacity to bring federal government support to various types of projects.

South Lake CFDC can serve as an information source on a variety of activities in other communities as well as sources of funding support.
