Social Enterprise (Social Economy) Financing

Social Enterprise, or the Social Economy, consist of business activities, typically offered in a for profit setting, being offered by a not for profit organization with the surpluses generated from this activity being used to fund the not-for-profits broader community mandate.

With the renewal of the Community Futures program in October 2005 financing of social economy activities was added the eligible uses of the CFDC's Investment Fund.

Applications for Social Economy financing are processed and approved in a manner similar to those for business financing.

  • Lending decisions are made at the local level by members of the community.

Application packages can be obtained by contacting our office by telephone (905-476-1244), in person, Monday to Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, at our office in Keswick, Ontario (183 The Queensway South) or by downloading the following pdf files.  Both the Business Loan Application and Cash Flow must be completed.
