Business Financing for Youth

South Lake CFDC is a partner of the Canadian Youth Business Foundation (CYBF), a not-for-profit organization that provides flexible start-up financing up to $15,000 to young entrepreneurs.

Criteria 

• Must be starting a business in South Lake CFDC's catchment area*

• Must be a youth between the age of 18 and 34
• Must have a viable business plan with 2-years cash flow projections
• Legally eligible to work in Canada
• Not a full-time student
• Training or experience relevant to business start-up
• Agree to work with a mentor for a minimum of 2 years
• Business start-up should lead to full-time employment
• Business is new or less than 1 year old
• Applicant will be subject to a CYBF credit check
• No bankruptcies within the last 5 years
• CYBF will review applicants without a credit history

*South Lake CFDC's catchment area includes East Gwillimbury, Georgina, and Brock Township.  If the business is located outside South Lake CFDC's catchment area, you can apply directly to the CYBF National Office.
